A Secure Children's Home for Young People

Accommodation

The accommodation comprises of four seperate living / bedroom areas, with each area providing facilities for four young people, together with a range of classroom and sports / exercise facilities. The service has its own gymnasium, fitness suite, library area and medical facilities which include sterile treatment areas.  High levels of security are maintained within the building and in outside recreational areas, which are contained within a secure perimeter.

Placements

The referral process is designed to be easy.  All young people must be between 10 and 17 years of age and satisfy the "welfare" criteria under the Children Act Section 25. Young people between the age of 10 and 13 may be placed but in addition require the Secretary of State to consent to the placement, gained via Ofsted. In all cases an Order under Section 25 of the Children Act 1989 must be gained in order for the young people to be placed.

Young people do not keep items in their possession which may constitute a risk to themselves or others and when placed undergo a clothing / possessions search. Items considered to represent a risk are held in storage for the duration of the placement.

Please note Clare Lodge adopts a non-smoking policy.
