A Secure Children's Home for Young People

Contact

Clare Lodge takes seriously the duty of the Local Authority to promote and maintain contact between the young people and those connected with her. Young people are therefore encouraged to maintain contact by letter and telephone with their families, where this is appropriate. All contact arrangements are agreed at the admission stage and are reviewed at every planning meeting.

Contact may also take place at Clare Lodge in a private visitor's room and may be supervised if the circumstances of the case require this. Parents and those with parental responsibility are invited to attend all meetings held regarding their child. Similarly regular monthly contact with field social workers is encouraged.

Arrangements exist for the provision of an interpreter, translation and signing services, including the production of media in a range of languages as required by young people and / or parents for whom English is not their first language.
